Rasmile is made for children aged 3 to 10, so safety isn't an add-on: it's how the whole thing is built. Here it is in plain words for parents, and in detail for school admins.
For parents
In short, this is what happens when you snap your child's drawing:
We don't ask for your child's name, photo or any details about them.
We process the phone photo and throw it away straight away. It's never kept.
All we keep is the drawing itself, cut out of the sheet.
The drawing deletes itself, usually after one day.
The drawing only shows on that place's screen. It isn't published anywhere else.
The snap link works for one room only and expires after a short while.
Your child's drawing, on that place's screen only.
For school and centre admins
Children's data
None needed. A nickname label is optional and off by default (up to 12 letters or digits), and only shows on screen while you have it switched on.
Photos
Processed in memory and discarded: never written to disk, storage or logs. Only the cut-out drawing is kept (a PNG of the drawing alone).
Retention
Each organization sets it from 1 hour to 30 days; the default is 24 hours. Drawings are then deleted automatically, and “Delete now” removes everything immediately.
Moderation
Optional, per screen. When it's on, drawings wait for a staff member's OK before they appear.
Capture links
Tied to one room and they expire: the QR code keeps renewing and each one is valid for 15 minutes, and a phone session ends after 3 hours. “New room code” stops every old link.
Separation
Every organization is fully separate: its screens, drawings and team are invisible to others, in every request and every live channel.
Drawing links
Drawing images reach the screen through signed links that expire, and every connection is encrypted (HTTPS).
Staff accounts
Sign-in is for your team only, with two roles: owner (manages screens, team and retention) and staff (runs the screens).
