Privacy policy
In plain words: what we keep, what we don't, and why.
Who we are
Rasmile is a service that turns children's paper drawings into characters that move on a big screen. It's used by schools, kindergartens, play centres and families (“organizations”). This page explains plainly what data we handle, why, and for how long.
Children
- We don't ask for any personal data about children: no names, no ages, no photos of faces.
- The phone photo: when a grown-up snaps a colouring sheet, we process the photo in memory to cut the drawing out, then discard it immediately. It is never written to disk, storage or logs.
- The drawing: we keep only the cut-out drawing (an image of the drawing itself) so it can appear on the organization's screen.
- Name labels: optional and off by default. If an organization switches them on, a short nickname (up to 12 letters or digits) can be added.
- Retention: drawings are deleted automatically after the period the organization sets (from 1 hour to 30 days; 24 hours by default), and the organization can delete them all immediately.
Grown-ups who snap
Snapping needs no account and no app, and we don't ask for your name or number. The phone gets a temporary link tied to one room, which expires after a short while.
Organization staff (dashboard accounts)
We store each user's name, email address, password (hashed, so it can't be read back) and role in the organization. When they sign in, we set one cookie that is needed for signing in and nothing else.
Demo requests
When you fill in the “Book a demo” form, we store what you wrote (name, organization, role, email or phone, city, kind of place, message and language) only to get back to you about the demo. We don't store your IP address with the request. We keep it as long as we need it to follow up, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Cookies and tracking
The public website's pages use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (such as which pages are visited, the kind of device and the country). Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser; it doesn't store full IP addresses, and we don't use it for advertising. By using the public website you agree to this; you can prevent it by blocking cookies in your browser. The kids' pages (snapping and colouring on a phone), the display screen and the dashboard have no analytics at all.
Apart from that, the only cookie is the sign-in cookie for organization staff. The dashboard remembers your preferred language and selected organization in your browser.
Spam protection
The “Book a demo”, sign-up and forgotten-password forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not an automated program, is filling them in. Cloudflare looks at technical details of the browser and device for this purpose only; it isn't used for advertising.
Technical logs
Like most websites, our servers log technical details about requests (such as IP address, the page requested and the time) to keep the service secure and to fix problems. These logs never contain phone photos, and we keep them only for a limited time.
Who can see the data
- Every organization is fully separate: its drawings, screens and team are invisible to others.
- Drawings appear only on the organization's own screens and dashboard, and aren't published anywhere else.
- The Rasmile team can access data when needed to provide support or keep the service running.
- We don't sell data and we don't show ads.
Security
All connections are encrypted (HTTPS), drawing links are signed and expire, capture links are tied to one room and expire, and snapping is rate-limited to prevent abuse.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected or deleted. Organizations can delete their drawings themselves at any time from the dashboard. For anything else, reach us through the contact form or by email at support@martech.sa or reply to our message to you.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and we'll let organizations using Rasmile know about important changes.
